If you do in¬ vestigate the Latin Club. Dedicated to the Roman living style, the Latin Club holds slave auctions and celebrates Roman festivals. This year their Christmas party (Satur¬ nalia) was held late because of weather complications. The Latin Club banquet was held in the Spring, it included a slave auction—female slaves were auctioned off—and all the traditional garb with laurel crowns and flowing robes. ORGANIZATIONS 135

German Club The German Club is an informal association of Woodson’s students of German. They attend cultural events such as Oktoberfest and Fasching parties. They operate with a rotating chairman. Political affairs are especially impor¬ tant to the people in this area since this is the nation’s government seat.
