Childhood gone forever. The pacesetter of the school. An image to be protected. College beckoned from the hazy future, but the present dominated every action. The class ring, no longer merely a pretty novelty, became a constant re¬ minder of rank and obligation. The gay un¬ conscious frivolity of the freshman, the proud officiousness of the sophomore, and the busy uselessness of the junior were transformed into dim nostalgia. But the Senior Year with its honors and disasters retains its identity.
