an Iaraine atterton lWfl'Y Sflllfef president state officer wi PM ff S- Pt! ,Qs i rin 7 ss ,nn-1' Laralne Atterton receives her gavel at the installation of officers YT fred teitzel president fha future homemakers of america This year the Future Homemakers of America have donated their time and en ergy to further many community activities They made swags to decorate the old folks homes at Christmas sold peanuts and bal loons for the March of Dimes and made dolls for the Childrens Orthopedic Hos pita The F H A urls can play as hard as they work Month y night meetings were usu ally preceded by a dmner whether it be a potluck or o meal featuring foods from around the world Delegates from the lo cal chapter made trips to Regional Meet ings Demonstration Day and the State Convention This organization prospered under the guidance of its president Laralne Atter ton and her officers Vice President Ma rilyn Arnold Secretary Shari Dombro ski Treasurer Linda Talbott Parliomen tarlan Betty Szamblan and Historian Jo Ann Heck Advisor to the group was Mrs ms G the farmers of the future One of the most active though least publicized groups at W. F West is the Future Farmers of America Chapter. These boys spend many hours of work to prepare for their major project of the year-the Southwest Washington a nd Western Washington Fairs. The boys participate in regional events such as the Parliamentary Proceedure Con- test Public Speaking Contest and the Leadership Training Conference. ln ad- dition to these school projects they partici- pated in John Deere Day conducted ed- ucational programs on F.F.A. at the Forest and Fords Prairie Granges and sent a rep- resentative Charles McCormick to the national F.F.A. Convention in Kansas City. President of F.F.A. for this most success- ful year was Fred Teitzel, and his officers were Vice-President, Charles McCormick, Secretary, Bill Watt, Treasurer, Bob Ho- gan, Reporter, Bob Mclntireg Sentinol, Marvin Mooberry, and Historian, Gary An- derson. Mr. Fagerness, the group's ad- visor proved an invaluable aid to the club.

f.b.l.a. future business leaders of america iim evers president XV Here s Jan Ronqulst balancing the books charlotte miller vice presadent Roselle Durden F B L A treasurer demonstrates an adding machine honor society Members of National Honor Society are the seniors, juniors, and second semester sophomores who fulfill the club's basic requirements of leadership scholarship service and character At Christmas time the so called wheels let down their halr at a Christ mos Party which was held this year at the home of Dorothy Sonneman Token gifts ranging from chocolate covered grasshoppers to goldfish were exchanged A guest speaker is featured at the Hon or Socletys banquet which is held dur ing spring semester Parents of the of flcers are Invited to attend This years Honor Society President was Jim Evers His officers were Vice Presl dent .lim Steepy Secretary Kathy Bagln ski and Treasurer Jan Ronqulst Miss O Connell was the group s advisor here gather the scholastic elite F B L A s meetings this year were high lighted by speakers representing various phases of business Talks by stenogra ployees of the business world were heard The local F B LA Club traveled to Se attle to install a new chapter which it was instrumental in founding At the annual spring banquet W F West High School s Ideal Secretary was announced This years officers have been Vice President Charlotte Miller Treasurer Rosella Durden Secretary Janet Lester and Historian Sharon McMillan Mr Fw B Smith was this years FBLA advlsor .
