These 8 TirsT place Tinishes included Robby Edwards, Eddie Welborn, John lvlusselman, Laird Carmichael, Ted Nelson, Bobby Arnold, Marvin Robinson, and Alan Kuniansky. Thus Dykes, wiTh eighT wresTlers gualiTying Tor The sTaTe Tour- namenT, proved To be a deTiniTe TronT runner in The bid Tor The sTaTe championship. The Tollowing week brough+ The all-imporTanT sTaTe TournamenT, This year held aT Columbia l-ligh School. The compeTiTion was keen. NeverTheless, Dykes had Tive wresTlers To advance To The semi-Tinals, wiTh Two going TurTher To The Tinals. John Musselman conTribuTed wiTh a TourTh in his weighT class. Third places were recorded by Marvin Robinson and Alan Kuniansky. Bobby Arnold earned his way To a second place in The sTaTe wiTh an overall record oT lf?-I. And capTain Laird Carmichael wenT on To win The sTaTe TiTle in his weighT division Tor The Third year in a row, a TeaT rarely accomplished by a Georgia wresTler.
