Coli Cagers Long On Taleni BuT QhorT On HeighT The Dykes VarsiTy baskeTball Team, alThough noT evidenT in iTs record, showed some greaT TalenT in Seniors l-lank Folberg, Chip Milner, and Tom Elrod. PoTenTially, Dykes had one oT The beTTer Teams in The region, buT The season was hampered by injuries and misTakes which resulTed in losing games by small margins. Also, The luck The ColTs ran inTo ThroughouT The season was unusually bad. AlThough iT was Coach l-loward's TirsT year, he did a remarkable iob OT coaching The Team. The ColTs also had some Tine Junior players including BriTT Baldwin, l-lank Small, Terry DiNaTale, and Brian STansell. The Team's mosT saTisTying win came againsT NorThside, who had previously beaTen Dykes by Two poinTs. Hank Folberg played an ouTsTanding game wiTh 37 poinTs, his season high, and 23 re- bounds. The sTuden.T body supporT was noT as good as desired, buT disTanT games and inconvenienT game Times accounTed Tor This. NexT year The Team looks Torward To a successTul season wiTh The reTurn oT some TalenTed Juniors and Sophomores wiTh valuable experience.
