-Q... X v -T: C a Track The success of this year's track season for Coach David Ballauer's cindennen could be easily summed up by counting the many new records they set. Qualifying for the regional meet in Denton were the mile relay team, Butch Hoover in the 880 and Ricky Mori and Paul Jacobs in the 440. Boswell's track team won all the meets they entered except for two, which were the Mustang Relays, where they took second, and district, where they took another behind North Side. They looked good in all their outings and are in hopes of another good season next year. There were many tracksters who consistently finished in the top five all season long but did not qualify for regionals. They were Roger Corbin in pole vaultg Ricky Mori, who set a new school record in long jump, and Dewain Smith who also set a new school record in the 330 and 120 hurdles. The 440 relay team was also a help in taking firsts this season. They took first at the Grapevine Invitational, Bear Relays, Carter Invitational, Weatherford's Roo Relays, and a three-way meet at Farrington Field. This year the annual Pioneer Relays, the first meet of the season hosted by the Pio- neers, was cancelled due to cold weather. Also competing consistently for the Pioneers were junior varsity and freshman teams, who made good showings at each meet. C Sports 89
