unior Varsity The junior varsity did an outstanding job during the season, finishing with a 6-4 overall record and 3-1 in zone play. Two of their defeats came in last-minute victories by opponents. In the Grapevine game, the Mustangs scored with nine seconds left in the game to defeat the Pioneers 20-14 and a last attempt to score near the Car- ter goal line was stopped by the Eagles' defense to give the Pioneers another close defeat. The I.V. team was victorious against such arch rivals as Diamond Hill, 30-6g Azle, 14-12, North Side, 16-14 and Brewer, 26-0. The team was led by quarterback David McWhorter, who connected on many passes to Danny Pemberton. jerry Davis led the young Pioneers in rushing and Marshall Woolsey, Greg Ingram and Kevin Steven- son were consistently picking off opponents' passes.
