190, VVhiz uiz Kids Utilize Learning Having a combination of knowledge in the basics, the arts, and the skills de- scribes Boswell's Whiz Quiz kids. Competing in Whiz Quiz Competition this year for the first time were several Boswell students who proved to be well- rounded in the knowledge of various subjects. The team was sponsored by Miss Kathy Ott and Mr. Forrest Lykins. VVhiz Quiz combines much general knowledge along with the excitement and pleasure of competition. The VVhiz Quiz is a tournament similar to the College Bowl . The teams consist of four players who compete with another team on a wide variety of sub- jects including math, history, science, and music. The Whiz Quiz kids practiced several hours eachlweek preparing for their tournament. There were no quali- fications to be a part of the Whiz Quiz except a desire to compete. Learning 47

She was not only athletically inclined but she also served on the student council and was class president for two years. Her future plans after graduation include studying to becoine an interior decorator and further developing her ability in art. Mr. Boswell, Kyle Watson, was a football manager for several years and was selected to bc the Pioneer Klas- cot this year. He competed in debate for four years and, along with his partner, won the state chainpion- ship in 1978. Kyle was also on the student council. His future plans include studying pre-law at Baylor.
