One of these meetings included the annual dinner at a local French restaurant. Members participated at the Language Fair held at Country Day school. To promote it they designed bumpers stickers and posters. A puppet show was en- tered into the Language Fair. It was the French ver- sion of Little Red Riding Hood . To raise money for the club, students tried some- thing different. They chose to sell calendars instead of the usual candy. More students were enrolled in French this year so the French Club was slightly larger than last year. This proved to be an advantage for participation in projects and events. M ggi? Spanish Club A busy year for the Spanish Club was highlighted by members attending the Pan American Student Forum Convention at San Antonio in March. However, much time, preparation, and planning took place during the year to enable approxi- mately twenty members to make the trip. Throughout the year many fund-raising projects were held such as: a car wash, bake sales, and selling various candy which helped each member pay for the con- vention. Along with raising money for scholarships, and other activities, Spanish Club members found time to have fun by participating in traditional Christmas car- oling at nursing homes, and delivering carnations to students in their third period classes on Valentines Day. As the year came to an end, the annual election and in- stallation of officers was held, and todos de los miembros del club de espanol went to a fiesta at Burger's Lake. 'fling 00- 2 .. so A X 1. Members of the two FHA chapters began activities early by making preparations for the annual parent-member banquet held at the first of the year. Along with the dinners and orientations, FIIA members cheered up many children's hearts at Christmas when they went to a local day care center and played Santa Claus for the kids. It seems that the fun was never over. As Valentine's Day rolled arormd, they went to VVestern Hills Nursing Home and danced their way into many forgotten peoples hearts with a dance hav- ing a theme of the Roaring 20's . As the year appeared to have slipped behind them and time al- most had run out, FHAers began their plans for next year. Another banquet was held at Colonial Cafeteria for the installa- tion of new officers and with the business all finished they began looking ahead at their new goals and future accomplishments. .4 W. as 1 L A A A 1 i s .,kk ,l Lg!
