Student Council The student council and its officers, with the help of their new adviser, Miss Marilyn Wiles, sponsored many activities this year, both to help improve the school and to improve entertainment for students. They began their big year by helping to organize homecoming activities. They helped with the voting for Homecoming Queen, the spirit chain, victory dance, and sponsored the class banners contest in which points for Sadie Hawk- ins were given. The Coimcil sponsored several activities to help keep the campus clean. They painted the trash cans to help brighten up the campus and they held a clean-up week. In the annual student council-teacher's volleyball games the male faculty maintained their winning record, but the women lost to the council team. The volleyball game and the can drive were held to raise money and food for needy families at Thanksgiving. The council also sponsored many activities to promote Christmas Spirit. One of these was a door decoration contest and they also held a Christmas assembly with members of different clubs performing skits. Another project of the group was the first Mr. Muscle contest held at Boswell. Eight guys from various classes were nominated by the students for the com- petition. They were presented to the student body and were put through various tests while being judged by female staff and student council members.
