This was a year when clubs made it all happen. The traditional Teacher of the Monthi' sponsored by FTA, and the annual student- faculty volleyball game started the year off with a big boom. The Thespians presented the pro- duction of the Wizard of Ozv which in tum gave other clubs the momentum to get into the action. As Thanksgiving rolled around, the hearts of many Were opened as shown by the canned-food drive sponsored by the student council and the HERO toy drive that Was aimed at aiding underpriviledged families in our community. As the time began to pass, all of the clubs of Big Bos seem to go into full swing. Their good deeds and helpful hands accomplished a lot in such a short time. And can you believe it? It was done all in a year .... ORGANIZA- TIONS

Marching Contest. The band also attended the Southwest Music Festival at Galveston during the spring. Under the leadership of their new director, Chuck Maxwell, the band has established the reputation of being one of the best bands that Boswell has had. The band step ed off on the right foot in '77 by makinf t eir first one rating in five years at the C eburne Marching Festival. The ,UJ,,.,qA band kept on their winning form by receiving ' a first division at the U.I.L. Marching Con- X Y- ffl! tests at Farrington Field on November 1. 'Wt Under field leadership of senior Cathy G Nutt, the Sound Machine received many ji Iwi? standin ovations at home fames as well is 'Ml , g , g' . ' z. away games. At the last regular season home football game Cathy Nutt and Iim McClanahan were selected as Band Sweet- heart and Band Beau, but only after Karen Bell, Darla Hard, and Laurie Brooks twirled with fire in a spectacular lights-out routine to the theme son of Bocky' . In Ianuary tie band marched the streets of L downtown Fort Worth in the Stock Show Pa- Y rade. Also in january, several students at- tended the All-Region tryouts. Senior Laurie Brooks and sophomore Pat Vawter were se- lected for the All-Region Band and performed with the band on january 7. In Febuary, the band gave a mid-winter concert for the public at the First Baptist Church in Saginaw. This also was the first public appearance of the newly established ., 'ff ,- 106 Organizations
