They were soon in need of players after various injuries plagued the team and loss of team members cut the number on the starting squad. To fill in the gaps, Rodriguez, drafted junior varsity players. The season's outstanding players included Kent Vincent, Scott Staton, Ricky Walton, Craig Strain, Dick Elkins, Tim Thornton and Danny Henson. The Pioneers are coming back next year with five play- ers who frequently started, which include Henson, Thornton, Vincent and Staton. Chris Shaw will also re- turn with the others in hopes of to achieving a winning record.
