They traveled to the away games by bus and helped at home football games to direct traffic and park cars. They were headed by sponsors Robert Blakey and Deryl Fox. Cheerleaders Boswell's spirit leaders for the year were varsity cheer- leaders Nancy Newcom, Tina Hogan, Kathy Keith, Sherry Ward, Ginger Nethery and Melinda Newcom. The cheer- leaders, along with the pep squad, traveled with the vari- ous teams throughout the year, their longest venture being to Austin in February with the girls' basketball team at the state tournament. Junior varsity cheerleaders for the year were Anna Cruz, Diana Garza, Laura Ritchey, Teresa Allen, Julie Smith and Sharon Kret.
