French Club French students corresponded with pen pals from the native country and prepared for a trip over the summer months to Europe to visit the places they have studied. The trip sprang from the correspondence of the pen pals, who will also be coming to America to visit later in the year. Members of the club participated in the foreign lan- guage festival at Austin College in Sherman in the spring. Students found themselves to be winners in several divisions. The year was spent with meetings held monthly at members' homes, with each including a picnic, dinner or party. One such meeting included a dinner prepared of French foods, including French menus. Ten students made up the staff which envisioned the book i as what it might be and then set about to attempt to make it fit their dream. Lost rulers, misplaced reduction wheels and l the never-ending search for a pencil were mind-bogglers for the staff during deadline times. Courageous staff members . included Janice Cantwell, Beth Ham, Cammie Lewis, Judy Pike, Ricky Taff, Shelly Van Meter, Donna Thompson, Chuck Thornton, Sharon Jacobs and Randy Carroll. l Y , Involvement 125
