Spanish Club The year was one of the busiest for Spanish students with the highlights of the year being the presentation of a workshop at the state Pan American Student Fo- rum convention in San Antonio and the winning of a scholarship by Sherri Edwards. Most of the year was spent in preparation of Asi Es Panama for PASF's golden anniversary convention. The group presented costumes, foods, customs, a slide show and program surrounding their theme. Cindy Willbanks was district PASF chairman. Bos- well activities included visits to a rest home at Christ- mas with favors and dinner at various members' homes. The club helped to finance their projects by sell- ing candy early in the year. Choir Choir members started their performing early with a welcome concert for parents and faculty at the September open house. A special Madrigal sing- ing group was also a new addition to the department and they represented the school by entertaining at various luncheons and meetings throughout the year in the surrounding area. The choir joined in with the drama students for the production of Alice in Wonderland in the fall and helped with the Thoughts on Stage presen- tation in May. They sponsored the district-wide talent show in March and presented a special music arrangement in the spring. i Involvement 121

French Club French students corresponded with pen pals from the native country and prepared for a trip over the summer months to Europe to visit the places they have studied. The trip sprang from the correspondence of the pen pals, who will also be coming to America to visit later in the year. Members of the club participated in the foreign lan- guage festival at Austin College in Sherman in the spring. Students found themselves to be winners in several divisions. The year was spent with meetings held monthly at members' homes, with each including a picnic, dinner or party. One such meeting included a dinner prepared of French foods, including French menus.
