1 an - s it l ,.-A-I- 'f X 1 l 4 1 Mechanical Trades Mechanical trades students were busy throughout the year working with cars and learning various parts of the motor and what makes engines run. Class time, which was two hours in length, was spent changing plugs and points, oil and filters, washing, waxing and performing general maintenance on cars which were brought to the shop for service. The only charge for the work was cost of the parts. Money which was made from washing cars went into the club treasury and was used throughout the year for various outings for class members. Class members learned to mix and pour concrete and cement and to frame and build various structures. Work during the year consisted of doing repair work to structures, making improvements and building for individuals. The classes built stor- age houses and displayed them in their shop. The structures were dismantled and sold to in- terested persons. Involvement 113
