X THE FOOTBALL TEAM With a team that was made up of entirely new material, XV. C. Strip- ling is again the champion of the class B division. The boys started the year off right by defeating Poly, a team in the class A division. The scrap was I I to 6 The team showed that it had worked hard, and had not worked in vain. The team worked like a machine without a cog missing. The football boys carried the work on through the rest of the year. In class B they were defeated only once and were victorious six times. It is a honor to have such fine boys and real sports to carry the banner of the W. C. Stripling High School on through the years to come. It is also an honor to have such a fine coach as Mr. Lowe to put the boys through a good clean game. Page 8 O

if 1- .av l l y l FERDIE JOHNSON l Captain Ferdie was a per- fect cog in the wheel, a good sportsman, and an able captain. He kept up the fight- ing spirit of the team and was always on the job. CHARLES PRIDDY Center Charles, an accu- rate passback, helped to give the backfield a good start. He was noted for sailing through the line and downing a man in his tracks. He has been elected captain for next year. Page 8 I 'X '-- L MAR1oN PENDERY Quarter Twink went into the game with undy- ing determination' to win and was a con- sistent ground gainer and an accurate passer. - JOHNNY THOMPSON Half Johnny was an all round backfielder. He was a good runner, passer, receiver. and tackle.
