YOUR CAP There is no one who can give you your cap, A nurse's cap is never really hers, lt belongs to anyone in need And is a challenge, heritage and creed. You will take it for granted and often wonder If it's worth the aching feet, The days when everything is out of place, And every patient just another case, Though you are young and often lost yourself, You must be all things to all folks-- And you must find kindness, tact and poise In sharing someone e1se's sorrows and his joys. The warmth of a newborn child in your arms-- A patient calling nurse! and meaning you-- Laughter, work, the people you will meet-- 'I'hese are the things that make your cap complete A challenge. heritage, creed and more-- A way of living and of helping others.
