fllfflfllllll We, the class of '59 wish to express our feelings toward the individual who has willingly contributed her time for our class and our school in its entirety. Our choice is Mrs. Bertha Bentley, our housemother and personal friend. Mrs. Bent1ey's untirlng efforts have been directly centered around each student individually. She has fulfilled the position of a second mother to every student for the past three years. We remember the times she treated us with her baking, cared for us when we were sick, comforted us when we were discouraged, and shared with us our many happy experiences. Her sincere interest and advice helped us to solve the personal problems we as student nurses encountered. By her encouraging manner and helpful ways she has aided us in reaching maturity as professional women. To you, Mrs. Bentley, we respectfully and sincerely dedicate this book, the 1959 LAMP- LIGHTER.

IN Mzmonmm Em QQWQ On January 16, 1959, W.C.A.Hospital was greatly saddened by the death of Dr. Frank Good- win. He will long be remembered for his many years of devoted service to this community and mankind. Dr. Goodwin was born in Jamestown on August 30, 1882. He was graduated from Jamestown High School, Cornell Medical College, and took his internship at the Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. Since 1909, he engaged in the active practice of his profession, specializing in internal medicine and in the treatment of heart disease. I-Ie was an active member of many community organizations, the First Baptist Church, the medical staffs of both local hospitals, and other medical associations. He also served on the training school committee of our school of nursing. His fine spirit, humor, and good will have made him beloved as a physician and friend. It is our fervent hope that through the justice and mercy of God, his soul may rest in peace and in His grace, forever.
