FIRST DIVISION DECK WEAPONS The Deck Department set out on a battle against rust during the Mediterranean deployment. Armed with 1,500 gallons of paint First Division worked hard at their never ending battle against corrosion. We were able to accomplish over ninety percent of the painting,” said BMC Leland H. First Division also completed over 9 percent of their PQS qualification. “We had no set plan on how to go about getting our goals accomplished, said Maxam. We just saw it as something that had to be done.” Although you can’t attribute the success of Deck meeting its goal to one single thing or person, you can attribute it to a group of people working together, according to Maxam.
