WILLIE WELDON The Voorhees Choir is well organized and provides musical experience for students possessing vocal talent. The choir presents a Christmas Carol Concert, to which the citizens of Denmark look forward, and other concerts annually. From this organization stem the Saint Phillips Chapel Choir and the Voorhees Ensemble. The Saint Phillips Chapel Choir sings on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. The New I-Iomemakers of South Carolina is a local organization of Negro girls studying Home Economics in the public schools of the State. During the school terms of 1936, '37 and '38 about one-half of the Home Economics Departments in the State organized their girls into the New Homemalcers of South Caro- lina and at which time Voorhees became a member. One of the chief objectives of the organization is to train active ancl efficient leaders among young women for home and community life. The Annual Xmas Bazaar and the Fashion Show in the spring are two of our out- standing events of the year. There are sixty members ancl the officers are as follows: 38
