The main office of Von Steuben owes its streamline efficiency for the most part to Miss Eleanor Swartz and Miss Mary Schwartz. ln spite of their many duties as secretaries to Miss Shea and Mr. Marsh they are always cheerfully prepared to assist a puzzled student or perform an extra task. There are few students in Von Steuben who do not consider Mr. Marsh, our assistant principal, a Very good friend. A warm heart and cheer- ful disposition plus a real interest in each individual student account for this. His deep understanding and thoughtful suggestions make a talk with him unforgettable. The students who shirk their work and classes are advised by Mrs. Timmons, the school's truant officer. She has helped young people for many years and therefore understands their difficul- ties. When a student becomes truant, aid is offered by discussing his problem and advising wisely both the student and his parent.
