Some have wine-some plain hard bread Some care not as long as they are filled Some want better-- some tastes are dead Some have ambitions by failure killed. Some love money more than life. Some love their homes the more Some call it the emblem of strife Some minds it runs to a festering sore. Some write poetry-some think they do Some won't even touch a book. Some love letters-some Who's Who Some live to sleep in a cozy nook. if -A- Like barren soil Being watered So The average child ln school. if 'l' That which distinguished man from the lower animals is his power of speech. W'hy does the teacher bid us keep silent? Chains Binding me, Invisible, Yet powerful Holding me back From every desire. Chains Cramping me Torturing, Holding me, In shackles Of despair. The black morrass Of humanity Release your gossamer talons Unfetter your cringing victim Cease being vindictive And allow me to return To my youthful illusions. 'K' 'A' 1k Y SPIRIT or Yotiriix The curse of silence decending on me Walls crushing more and more Try as I can, I find no outlet- Has my prison any door? No, it is sealed as tight as a tomb Closing out the light of the sun And in this rat hole l must fester Until my earthly life is done. But l will not stand this incarceration l will not bow my head, And my Spirit shall fight on and on Long, long after l'm dead For the door shall be blasted, Through to freedom's light And the regard is worth the struggle Regardless how hard the fight!

Some teachers use a lot of big words we don't know, but that makes us Want to learn them. Some speak our English, but we can't understand the things they tell us. However, in spite of our many mistakes, they are very kind and don't scold us. They teach us a lot of things no one else knows. That is because they want us to be intelligent when we grow up, just as they are.
