STUDENT COUNCIL The officers of the Student Council are elected by the student body. The President must come from the Senior Class while the Secretary is a Junior. At the same time the cheerleaders are elected, the head cheerleader then being elected from the group themselves. First row; Beth Sanders, Head Cheerleader; Peggy Wilson, 2nd Vice President, Penny Harris, Secretary. Second row; Bob Cowgill, Vice President; Mack Rives, Treasurer; D. L. Butler, President, Max Cornelius, Assembly Manager. Also on the Student Council are the class presidents. These are elected in the Spring by their in¬ dividual classes for the following term. First row . Becky Speer, Eighth President; Midgie Simmons, Freshman President. Second row . Betty Eaton, Sophomore President; Charlotte Speer, Junior President; Bobby Williams, Senior President.

The presidents of the various clubs and organizations make up a great part of the Council. They are chosen by the individual clubs and automatically become a member of the Council. There are only three appointed representatives to the council. An athletic representative is appointed by the Athletic Dept., and the editors of the Papoose and Warrior are chosen by the faculty.
