MACKEY PRINCIPAL VIVIAN HIGH SCHOOL VIVIAN, LOUISIANA December 21 Seniors of 1951, you, no doubt, are somewhat disturbed by the fact that it is difficult for you to make plans for your future with any great degree of certainty. The condition of the world does not appear to be lm- proving. We still do not know whether we shall engage in another world war nor how soon it will come. While it is not inevitable, the fact that the whole world is getting prepared makes it the more likely to come. We wish that, since your are completing your high school work, you could decide whether to try to find some suitable work, or to go to college and make fur- ther preparation for your life work. No doubt, some of you will be called into military service before a very long time. If so, we hope that you will give good service to your country. We wish that you may return safely. Since so many people will be needed in industry, those of you who do not go into military service may be able to help by doing work in plants making war materials. We have enjoyed working with you, and we wish you success in your work, in spite of the disturbed con- dition of world affairs. C. 4 may
