Recreation Office was the Powerlmuse for All ports Gathered around the desk are the directors and a student representative of one of the finest physical education programs in the State. They are Mr. J. Perticone, left, Mr. W. Raikovich across from him with John Marnon at his elbow. At the end is Father Kuntz, the Priest in charge of the Physical Education Department at Visi. A very important personage in this program who does not happen to be photographed here is Father Markey, the Priest who had a dream which really came true. Visitation's Social and Recreational Center is an unique project in Catholic Education, and also a valuable contribution to the Archdiocese. An in- tegrated program of mental, moral, and physical education is possible here because of the wonder- ful facilities, and because of the close cooperation of the Sisters and the Center Personnel. Every boy and girl in Visitation School is given an excellent opportunity to learn practical truths and to have a good time in a well balanced program at the Cen- ter. The large crowds of students found there every day attest to the wisdom and popularity of the proiect. And the well-adiusted successful lives of these students will be a fitting justification of a daring experiment. A competent staff of fifteen well qualified men and women carry on the stupendous program of physical education, leisure time recreation and so- cial activities, along with the usual varsity sports for our grade and our high school. Under the able direction and leadership of Mr. Wm. Raikovich and Mr. Justine Perticone a successful program is plan- ned and carried out by the staff in close cooperation with the School. Every day the Center is a bee-hive of activity with meetings, games, practice sessions, dances, swimming, bowling, ping-pong, and checker con- tests going on simultaneously. The excited chatter of many voices indicates the happiness that is found in the congenial surroundings of the Center. We certainly have here a great treasure that we are happy to enioy and to share with others.
