Student Executive Council Duties: 13 Selecting the Student Executive Secretary. 23 Determining an expression of student opinion on all matters of policy in both Student Body and College Affairs. 33 Organizing the election of students to the Committees of the College, 43 Conducting the recall of students from elective office. 53 Appointing students to the Community Review Board. 63 Appointing students to serve on the Community Relations Council. 73 Providing for and enforcing a system of regularly scheduled reports to the Student Body by student members of the standing Committees of the College with regard to the activities of these students on those Committees and in the Voting Body. 83 Providing for, at regularly scheduled intervals, and appropriate times, open meetings of the S.E.C., the S.A. President presiding, for the discussion of student policy matters. 93 Deciding by concensus, or at least two-thirds majority of the total membership, any ap- propriation ofthe Student Government budget exceeding fifty dollars, and by simple majori- ty of the members present any other appropriation. 103 Holding referenda at any such time on any issue which it feels of such importance as to warrant such action. 113 Appointing standing and ad hoc committees of the Student Body as the need arises. Student Association President Duties: 13 The President shall be elected by a simple ma- jority of the student body. 23 The President shall serve as chairman of the S.E.C. 33 The President shall, by virtue of his office, sit as the ninth student member of the S.A.W.C. 43 The President shall, by virtue of his office, sit as a student member of the Voting Body. 53 The President shall, by virtue of his office, sit as a student member of the C.A.B. 63 The President may not be the Editor of the school newspaper. Student Executive Secretary Duties: 13 He shall be administrative officer of the Student Executive Council. 23 He shall be required to report at each meeting of the S.E.C. on all matters concerning the Office of Student Affairs. 33 He shall be required at the end of each term to provide a summary of action discussed and com- pleted during his administration. 43 He shall provide a means of channeling student grievances to the appropriate committee and committee members. 53 His office shall provide a means for presenting proposals by members of the student body to the S.E.C., and he shall work closely with the Presi- dent of the Student Association in establishing the agenda of the Student Executive Council meetings. Non-Pictured Organizations Campus Association for Research and Enlightenment Purpose: Spiritual development in body, mind, and soul: to have a greater concern for the members in the group, the college, and the student community: to promote campus awareness of the Association for Research and Enlightenment and its work, to be a channel of light within the college. Criteria for membership: Membership is open to anyone with a serious interest in promoting spiritual growth. We will ask that members have some knowledge of the A.Ft.E. and that they use the Search For God study group books. lntervarsity Christian Fellowship Purpose: tl To witness to the Lord Jesus Christ as God lncarnate and to seek to lead others to a per- sonal faith in Him as Savior and Lord. 23 To deepen and strengthen the spiritual life of members by the study of the Bible and prayer. Sl To present the call of God to the foreign mission field and so to help all students discover God's role for them, at home or abroad in world evangelism. Criteria for membership: Membership shall be open to all students and faculty who are interested in the purpose, the programs of the organization, and will adhere to the Basis of Faith. Photography Club Purpose: 17 Instruction in the appreciation and arts of photography. 2l Instruction and exchange of knowledge concerning photographic techniques and expertise. 33 To provide photographic services and assistance for VWC campus publications. Criteria for membership: Membership is open to all students and faculty of Virginia Wesleyan College, on the basis of active interest and participation. Sigma Theta Xi Fraternity Purpose: Sigma Theta Xi has been established as a social fraternity on the campus of Virginia Wesleyan College to provide services for the college with primary interest in providing expand- ed social activities for its brotherhood. Criteria for membership: After completion of a pledge period, candidates must be voted in by the brotherhood with a three-fourths majority. All members shall be males.
