The President The class of 1969 leaves the 'hallowed grounds and dear old walls' of Virginia Union at a period of unprecedented challenge and opportunity. This is true whether one considers the greatly expanded op- portunities for graduate and professional education, new opportunities and challenges in the world of work, or new opportunities and challenges for leadership and service among people in the solution of their problems. We believe that this year's graduates are more deeply concerned than any before them with the latter consideration and that if their immediate attention is given to one of the other considerations it will be only to enable them to render more effective leadership and service. She attended school in Stuart, Virginia and completed her education in Oxford, North Carolina.
