ER I G HER COU TRY FOR SEVENTY-FI E YE R HIS, the 1947 BUGLE, is the Hrst edition of the Tech year' book to appear since 1943 when, due to wartime conditions, it was necessary to discontinue publication. In the four years which have elapsed Alma Mater has seen many changes. The accelerated prof gram was inaugurated and graduation exercises were held each quarter. To assist the country in its war effort the school welcomed the establishment of the Army Specialized Training Program and the Navy Vf12 Program on the campus. With the cessation of hostilities the school prepared to expand its facilities in order to accommodate the thousands of veterans seeking an education at V. P. I. under the G.I. Bill of Rights. We have tried to bridge this gap by including pictures of the students who graduated since publication of the last BUGLE. While this section is by no means complete, we feel it is just compensation for the efforts expended in trying to contact all of these graduates. The year 1947 marks another memorable event in the history of V. P. I.-the seventyffifth anniversary of its founding. In conf junction with this significant date we have chosen as our theme: Virginia Tech, Serving Her Country for Seventyffive Years. We have, further, included in the book a pictorial history of the growth of the school. So here it is, your 1947 BUGLE.
