Slnce that time the Choir has been changed to the Virginia State University Gospel Ensemble. During the pe rlod of 1975-1976 the cholr was under the dl- rectlon of Mr. B. Dexter Allgood. God blessed the cholr with their first female dlrectress, Ms. Cora L. Harvey, from King and Queen, Virgin la. Under Ms. Harvey's leadership the choir traveled extensively. The cholr ls once again under the outstanding leadership of Mr. B. Dex- ter Allgood. In Aprll ot 1979 the choir was vot- ed as the att BLACK UNI- VERSITY GOSPEL CHOIR IN THE NATION by the Na tlonal Black Caucus in New York Clty at Colum bla Unlverslty.
