The officers, however, are selected from the advanced cadets. The Rifles of VSC meet with other colleges and universities to participate in various activities. Their purpose is to provide fraternal organization and additional train- ing for students who show an interest in Military Science. The cadets in good standing in the ROTC program who meet the requirements of the local or- ganization are eligible for membership on a com- petitive basis.

Many VSC students think that's the purpose of Party Phi Party. This social orga- nization loves to get off but they strive for brotherhood through social fellowship and to prepare one for his main goals in life. This orga- nization was first started on the VSC campus in 1969 by four black men Who had a dream of forming a social brotherhood. Eager to do something con- structive, 34 young Women began Working dili- gently together to pledge Pershing Angels. They saw the need for Unity among the sisters at VSC. The Drill Team of the Pershing Angels has per- formed in various parades and competitions throughout the East coast.
