OTA THE 711 Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. established itself at Virginia State College in 1968. It was founded in 1963 at Morgan State College. Dear because the love that I have for this institution is no less than those who toil and sweat on the fields, courts and arenas to bring victory to its door. And if, in some small Way, I can aid in this quest, I will do what I can. For this is the nature of what I am -I am a Moddis. Brother Alvin N. Swilley, III CIAA, CIAA, yes, this was the victory of Moddis Phi Moddis during basketball season. They were there yelling with many other VSC fans. This fraternity was established on the campus in 1968. They dedicate themselves to promote school spirit at all college activities and to pull student unity and participation to- gether. 125

In 1929 Sigma Gamma Rho became a national collegiate sorority. Greater Service, Greater Progress is the slo- gan of the Alpha Zeta Chapter here at VSC. They spon- sor activities that will encourage in every way possible the advantages of members socially, intellectually and morally. Sigma Gamma Rho participates largely in sponsoring national programs designed for the good of everyone. 127
