Alan Mapp, Melvin Porter. it :is Alpha Phi Omega was founded on Dec. 16, 1925 at Lafayette College in Easton, PA. The founder was Frank R. 1 f Horton. There are more than 450 active chapters function- - ing with about 125,000 members. The purpose of the Greek organization is to promote brotherhood and render service whenever needed. The cardinal principles are lead- ership, friendship and service. The Club has been in exis- tence at VSC for two years. F , is 121

Alpha Kappa Alpha - defined formally - is a Sisterhood of college women sharing the com- mon ideals of scholarship, leadership, service and character. In 1908, AKA was founded at Howard University in Washington, D.C. To date, the organization has spread throughout the states, Africa and the West Indies to include 406 chapters. Since its establishment in 1926 of Alpha Epsilon Chapter at VSC, it has initiated and suported numerous projects and activities on campus and in the community. This year AE sponsored their annual Little Miss AKA pageant to raise money to be donated to one of its natinal tangents - Project Sickle Cell Anemia. A few of their other activities are beautifying the college campus, working with the March of dimes, participating in the little Chapel, and aiding the Sickle Cell Anemia Program on Campus. On the Hill, AE prides itself in its 40 members.

'MA SIGMA 71,11 1 I ' . , pil a Gamma Sigma Sigma has been in existence as a Chapter at VSC since 1975. The Organization began at Drekel Institute of Technology in 1953. Their main concern at the time was to bind groups together into a national service organization. They strive to establish service, friendship and equality. Gamma Sigma Sigma's endeavor to assist not only the on-campus students but those off-campus as well.
