1-IA ALPH APP mt Karen Nixon, Sheryl Conyers, Berna Pitchford, Mattilyn Green, Vivian Turner, Sarah Dodson, Terry Moore, Gwendolyn Allen, Valeria Graves, Carolyn Blow, Debra Blow, Deborah White, Annie Smith, Ruth Grimes, Lori McKinley, Cheryl Keen, Renee Adams, Regina Knight, Valerie johnson, Alfreda Volley, Savon Stevens, Shelia Baxter, Valerie jones, Delores Tyler, Paula Thomas. Alpha Kappa Alpha - defined formally - is a Sisterhood of college women sharing the com- mon ideals of scholarship, leadership, service and character. In 1908, AKA was founded at Howard University in Washington, D.C. To date, the organization has spread throughout the states, Africa and the West Indies to include 406 chapters. Since its establishment in 1926 of Alpha Epsilon Chapter at VSC, it has initiated and suported numerous projects and activities on campus and in the community. This year AE sponsored their annual Little Miss AKA pageant to raise money to be donated to one of its natinal tangents - Project Sickle Cell Anemia. A few of their other activities are beautifying the college campus, working with the March of dimes, participating in the little Chapel, and aiding the Sickle Cell Anemia Program on Campus. On the Hill, AE prides itself in its 40 members.
