Students Honor the Memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. On the morning of his birthday, Memorial Services were held for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at Virginia State College. Dr. Carl Harris, who knew Dr. King personally, presided at the morning services. The Larry Bland Ensemble sang and Mr. Calvin Miller of the Political Science Department gave a speech. In the afternoon, the History and Social Sciences departments held seminars and showed films on Lynchings and the Atrocities to Blacks.
