Virginia parents pause for a smile with Weekend Co-ordinators. Registration involved many applications and forms. Out-of-state parents reported in from Connecticut, Washington, D.C., New Jersey, New York, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. Parents' Weekend '74 Parents from seven states and the District of Columbia were among the more than 800 parents, their children and members of the college com- munity who joined hands to make the second Parents Weekend at Virginia State College a success. According to Miss Marian A. Jones, director of residence life, the parents weekend program, held in conjunction with the Founders Day program, will be made an annual event at the school, Despite inclement weather that prevailed during the weekend celebration, par- ticipants crowded into the Education Building Auditorium to hear welcome remarks made by Dr. James E. Nichols, rector of the Board of Visitorsg Dr. Wendell P. Russell, president of Virginia State College, several other officials of the school's ad- ministration. Saturday, they met with heads of schools and departments, with VSC Alumni Association officials and student personnel, and witnessed the play Black Odyssey, presented by members of the Little Theatre.
