No sooner had that picture faded away than I saw an even stranger one. Down the track of the K Sz Mrailroad streaked a modern nuclear-powered locomotive. Behind the throttle was a heavy set figure relaxing in his chaise lounge. Bill Kidd was locomoting up and down rails now instead of the halls of VSB. The next scene really shocked me. On the steps of the Capitol I saw the President-elect, truck driver, Al Luck, making his inaugural address. One particular statement still remains in my mind: I believe in the rights of all free Americans -- life, liberty, and the happiness of pursuit. Iwasn't surprised at the next scene. A plump school teacher was sitting at her desk conducting a history class. Virginia Maynard had succeeded in getting Mr. Tyler's job. Then I saw a disgruntled executive. In front of her desk, looking rather woebegone, was a trim little secretary pleading her cause. Adrien Owens still hadn't mastered her typewriter. In the last picture I saw a cozy home in Richmond. At the breakfast table sat a middle-aged couple. The husband didn't look very well pleased over what he was drinking. Juanita Turner Shinault had finally succeeded in getting Ronnie to drink his milk. Cast will And Gestament We the Class of 1961, being of sound mind and body, do hereby make and officially record this our last will and testament. I, Judy Adams, leave to Iris Vann a star picked from the heavens. Iris will never be able to reach one herself. I, Danny Bowman, leave my ability to play the piano to Preston Mauck. I, Bonnie Coleman, leave to Barbara Davis my ability to keep my head around boys. I, Bill Kidd, leave my ability to sing to Barry Alderson. I, Al Luck, leave my athletic ability to Willie Vaughn. I, Jenny Maynard, leave my mischievous ability to Amelia Glass. I, Adrien Owens, leave my appetite to Wesley Williams. I, Juanita Turner, leave my pony tail to Mrs. Patterson. In closing, we would like to make one seri- ous and sincere bequest. To Mr. Shinpaugh, Mr. English, and all the members of the faculty and staff we leave an undying gratitude for the guid- ance, the understanding, the patience, and the friendship they have given us during our many years here. We do hereby appoint Mrs. Fenwick the sole executor of this, our last will and testament. We the Class of 1961, set our hand and seal this first day of June, nineteen hundred and sixty-one. 9 l
