Closer examination will re- veal chimneys in every tower and an exterior balcony between the two main towers. L asm Wall This building was dedicated in 1897. The portion to the left of the arch is Jackson Memorial Hall as it appeared in that year. The cadets were quartered in the bar- racks to the right of the arch. By 1917 the size of the corps neces- sitated larger accommodations, and the entire structure was converted into barracks. Replacing the mess hall, which was burned in 1905, this building was erected on the site of the one which served the corps in 1839. It was enlarged to some extent in 1918 and again in 1919. The present Crozet Hall replaced it in 1934. P 0L0(5UE -w.
