HO OR CO CTL The Honor Council, the backbone of the Honor System, serves as a judicial board in determining in- fractions of the Honor System. This organization strives to encourage all students to attain mature judg- ment in governing their actions. .The membership includes the Academic Dean, the Dean of VVomen, four other faculty members appointed by thc President of the college, the Presi- dent of Student Government, the Presidents of the Senior Class and Iunior Class, and the President of the Hall on which the girl appearing before the Honor Council lives. S ecretary The Student Government is composed of every student at Virginia Intermontg its main objective is, therefore, to further the best interests of the student body. Doing this, it strives to secure cooperation be- tween different organizations and to promote responsi- bility, self-control, loyalty, and honesty among the students. The focus point of the Student Government is found in the Student Council, a group composed of the Student Government officers, the presidents of each hall, a day student representative, and three second semester juniors. Throughout the year these girls devote themselves to helping each student find her place at Virginia Intermont, leading or giving' advice whenever called upon. ' ,
