0 F.H.A. The Virginia Chapter of F. H. A. has had a very successful and profitable year. The girls have several moneymaking projects which proved very successful this year. They were selling ice cream at noon and serving sandwiches and drinks at the Hallowe 'en Carnival. The girls helped the Junior Red Cross by making Christmas tree favors and cookies for the nursing homes They were delivered when the girls went caroling to the various homes. They also sent boxes to Korea and Germany. A style show and tea was held to entertain the high school girls, eighth grade girls, and their mothers. The chapter held its annual Mother and Daughter Banquet which was served by the F. F. A. boys. The theme for this year is, Living It Up. The meetings are held once a month, and each meeting has to do with the theme. The motto is, Toward New Horizons . The flower is the red rose, the colors are red and white, and the emblem is octagonal in shape and bears the name of the organization around the top. Around the bottom the motto is given. Ln the center there is a house supported by two hands which symbolizes that of youth. The advisor is Mrs. Carl Smith. The officers are: Joanne Launer, President, Marilyn Bell, Vice-President, Jeanie Cox, Secretary, Marcia McGehee, Treasurerg Mary Cooper, Parliamentarian, Sue Armstrong, Historiang Alice Haywood, Recreation Chairmang Luella Jones, Public Relations Chairman, Shirley Crawford, Projects Chairman: Beverly Martin, Degree Chairman. Mrs. Ralph Launer, Chapter Mother, Pamela Crawford, Chapter Sister. The F. H. A. Chapter looks forward to the future with much hope and anticipation to be good future homemakers as this is one of the main purposes of F. H. A, The F. H. A. Chapter belongs to the state and national association for Future Homemakers of America.
