Immediately following the dinner everyone sat back and listened to the program which con- sisted of the-- Pagan Love Song sung by the Girls' Quartet who was accompanied by Mary Ellen Lang. Second on the program was a Medley of Songs of the Island, Aloha, and Fico-Fico, played by John R. Shaner. Third was Hootche Kootche Henry from Hawaii, and At The End of a Long Lonely Day by James Carey. To bring the program to a close the group joined together in singing Aloha Oe. When everyone had gathered to the dance floor the room became enchanted as the rhythm of music, played by the Charles Rogers' Or- chestra, drifted out into the room and the dance floor became a swirl of beautiful colors as the girls, with their many colored and glittering formals, moved around the crowded room. The prom festivities came to a climax about 11:30 and as the couples slowly departed the prom became- -- A NIGHT TO REMEMBER The music fades, the stars grow dim The night too soon departs And though it dies, it leaves a mem'ry Glowing in our hearts. A glow that is the symbol of The happy days we've known Of countless friends and dreams come true Of four years that have flown. Of four short years that hurried by And to them now we cling As rather wistfully we reach Our prom---our final fling.

A1 awanan Cruise Iunior - Senior Prom May 8, 1954 Anyone who attended the Junior-Senior Prom of 1954 will no doubt be familiar with the theme of the prom, HAWAIIAN CRUISE. The prom, put on by the Junior Class of '54, in honor of the graduating Seniors of the '54 class, was held May 8, 1954, at 7:00 P. M., at the Elk's Club in Springfield, Illinois. The evening started off with the Junior Class officers, Denny Young, President: Billy Petefish, Vice-Presidentg Rosella Anderson, Secretary, Carol Anne Snow, Treasure-rg and the class spon- sor, Mr, Anderson, greeting the members of the Junior and Senior Classes, their guests, and the faculty, Each person received a colorful lei as they descended to their tables where they were seated. Second for the evening was the Welcome given by the Junior Class President, Denny Young, and the Response given by the Senior Class President, Sue Boswell. After this came the much awaited food and the mingling of voices as everyone settled down to enjoy their meal and to exchange conversation.
