SNOWEEK '87 The 1987 Snoweek was an eventful week for all those who participated. This year there was much more participation than usual. This extra spirit made the week extra special. The dress up days began with Monday's grub day, the noon event was the co-ed piggy back races. The winners were Jon Busse Kelly Johnson, with the Golden Crutch award going to Jenny Cina. On Tuesday the weird hairstyles took the school by storm, and the the school colors were displayed with pride on many jerseys and faces. Wednesday, everyone came ready to hit the beach! It's too bad it was only 40 degrees outside! On Thurs- day we paid tribute to our oldest rivals for rival day. Many people came dressed in their maroon and gold threads. During the noon hour, the tug-of-war was held in the gym. The senior guys and la- dies dominated the sophomores and juniors. In the afternoon, the annual guys volleyball game was held. Again, the senior guys easily dominated the sophomores and ju- niors, and even the faculty! Friday brought with it the traditional dress-up day. The coronation as- sembly started off with a bang by having the winners of the Battle of the Bands, Web-n-the Slingers, bringing down the house with their wild stage show. Then finally, the moment everyone was waiting for. The coronation of the 1987 Snoweek King and Queen. The royal court consisted of Steve Bell, Dean Edstrom, Andy Olson, Craig Sistad, Anne Roche, Stephanie Moeller, Chris Prijatle, and Jodi Lynn Johnson. Homecoming king and queen Michelle Mohney and Billy Lundberg crowned Snoweek king and queen Chris Prijatle and Dean Edstrom. The excitement car- ried through a high spirited game against the Eveleth Golden Bears that evening.
