DEDICATION Walking into a room cluttered with pictures, newspapers, magazines and books is a unique experience at Virginia High. Very few classrooms are kept equipped with contemporary materials and such an assortment of books as hers is. Everything that is studied in textbooks is supplemented by excerpts from material she has painstakingly and dutifully saved. Each day is brightened with her discussions, ideas, and enthusiasm, but the fifty-five minutes allotted never seem to be enough. As she once said in class, I have all these grandiose ideas, and then the bell rings. As much enthusiasm as she displays in the classroom ' one would think she would not have enough energy left to attend outside activities and meetings in the evenings. But she can be found at many games and extracurricular activities supporting our school as much as any student. She received an A.B. degree from Berea College and continued her education at the University of Virginia, the University of North Carolina, and East Tennessee State University to complete the requirements for her M.A. She presently is chairman of the C.A. Belcher Scholarship Committee, head of the English Department, and a teacher of sophomore and senior English. We dedicate the 1971 Virginian to this unique person, Mrs. Doris Booth.
