Programming includes all varieties of music, information, news, public affairs, and free public service announcements for stu- dents and student organizations. ■wi-vi- Black Awakening Choir The Black Awakening Gospel Choir of Virginia Com- monwealth University is a choir composed of young peo- ple with a common belief in God, and a desire to share their beliefs with others, through the singing of Gospel tVlusic. Black Awakening was organized in 1970 under the direction of its present director Charles N, Smith, and is composed of about forty members from various back- grounds and denominations. In 1978 the Choir was blessed to cut its first album, entitled, If You Just Believe in God. Along with cutting an album Black Awakening has traveled extensively on the east coast.
