Bolger, graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1964. His initial duty assignment was to the USS LEAHY QDLG 165 where he served as the First Lieutenant, Gunnery Assistant, Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer, and Navigator. Subsequent sea assignments include duty as Officer-in-Charge, PCF-99, Weapons Officer USS BLUE IDD-7442, Damage Control Officer, USS ENTERPRISE, QCVN-655: and currently is the Executive Officer of USS VIRGINIA QCGN-'ISD Shore duty assignments include Post Graduate Education and NROTC Staff Duty at Rennselaer Polytechnical Institute, Troy, New York where CDR Bolger received a Masters Degree in Operations Research and Statistics, Nuclear Engineering training at Vallejo, California, and Idaho Falls Idaho, and duty on the Pacific Fleet Nuclear Propulsion Mobile Training Team. CDR Bolger is married to the former Valeria Fritz of Budapest, Hungary. They have two children Michael and Christine. CDR Bolger is a native of A Brooklyn, New York. Chaplain LT McCranie 7,-.
