ADAMS QDDG-25, and USS JO- SEPHUS DANIELS QDLG-275: Executive Officer, USS CONYNGHAM QDDG-171 and Commanding Officer USS MACDONOUGH QDLG-85 and RICHARD E. BYRD QDDG-235. Captain Parker has served in World War II, the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. Other assign- ments include the Commander in Chief, U.S. Atlantic Fleet and Commander in Chief, U.S. Manager, Steam Propulsion Improvement Project, Naval Sea Systems Com- mand and as Coordinator, Steam Propulsion Improvement Project, Chief of Naval Operations COP-OBPJ. DESRON 26 From Korea to Viet Nam and from the Caribbean to the Middle East, Destroyer Squadron 26 has served the United States for over 27 years. In April 1978, Atlantic Fleet Destroyer Squadrons were reorgan- ized and Destroyer Squadron 26 was designated a tactical squadron, responsible for the 'at-sea' training of Atlantic Fleet destroyers and frigates during exercises and deploy- ments. Over the years, ships assigned to Destroyer Squadron 26 have received recognition and praise at all levels of command for their superior professionalism and 'can do' spirit. Bolger, graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1964. His initial duty assignment was to the USS LEAHY QDLG 165 where he served as the First Lieutenant, Gunnery Assistant, Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer, and Navigator. Subsequent sea assignments include duty as Officer-in-Charge, PCF-99, Weapons Officer USS BLUE IDD-7442, Damage Control Officer, USS ENTERPRISE, QCVN-655: and currently is the Executive Officer of USS VIRGINIA QCGN-'ISD Shore duty assignments include Post Graduate Education and NROTC Staff Duty at Rennselaer Polytechnical Institute, Troy, New York where CDR Bolger received a Masters Degree in Operations Research and Statistics, Nuclear Engineering training at Vallejo, California, and Idaho Falls Idaho, and duty on the Pacific Fleet Nuclear Propulsion Mobile Training Team. CDR Bolger is married to the former Valeria Fritz of Budapest, Hungary. They have two children Michael and Christine. CDR Bolger is a native of A Brooklyn, New York. Chaplain LT McCranie 7,-.
