Teufel MAI .,.wszs+ -we ,Q CDR McKechnie, the son of John and Emily McKechnie, was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and raised in Massachu- setts. After graduation from the Naval Academy in 'I962, he served as Main Propulsion Assistant, Damage Control Assistant, and Chief Engineer aboard the USS JOSEPH K. TAUSSIG IDE-IO30I. CDR McKechnie also served as Opera- tions Officer on the USS RICHARD E. BYRD ID-DG-23D and Flag Secretary at the U. S. Naval Academy. He was Assist- ant Reactor Officer and Reactor Controls Assistant aboard the USS ENTERPRISE ICVAN-65I before reporting aboard VIRGINIA.
