SEAHAWK GOLFERS WIN v I l l ll l ll l iff 57' Bill Kellam Gary Klahn Mike Clark The 1960 Seahawk golf team, led by fresh- man sensation Charles McDowell and senior Randy Zehmer, racked up the most impres- sive record in the history of the school. Play- ing a Group I schedule with such outstand- ing schools as Warwick Cdefending state champsl and Granby, the Seahawks regular season record was 12 wins, 1 loss, and 1 tie game. The only loss came at the hands of Princess Anne by the small margin of two pointsg this loss, was later revenged with a 14112-Bw, shellacking. Frosting was added to the cake when the Seahawks won the State Golf Tournament held at the James River Country Club, the home course of Warwick High School. Charles McDowell tied for runner-up in the regular medal-play competition but lost the play off to Robbie Sorak, who had an eagle on the sudden-death hole.
