JAYVEE U DEFEATED I ' CONFERERENCE Kneeling-Jack Tucker, Buddy Tillett, Ken Caffey, Tommy Tarkenton, Charlie McDowell, Larry Mail- hes, and Eric Reese. Standing-Dempsey Hardy, The Baby Seahawks ended the regular season with an impressive record of 16 wins and only 2 losses. They were undefeated in conference play with losses coming at the hands of Princess Anne and Norfolk Catholic. The boys on the squad showed much potential and should develop into tqp-notch varsity material., Dempsey Hardy and Charles McDowell led the Woody jumps Stephen Strickler, Vernon Stevenson, Woody Kist, Tommy Ayers, Richard Neal, and Bill Russell. scoring, but they were pushed closely by Woody Kist and Richard Neal. Bill Russell, showing tre- mendous scrap and rebounding ability, led the team defensively. Tommie Tarkenton and Tommy Ayres were outstanding substitutes, as were Ken Caffey and Steve Strickler. The 1961 team compiled the best Jayvee record in the history of the team! Get those rebounds
