Offi- cers of this year's paper were members of this newly-formed class. The purpose of the school paper was to serve as an educator, as an entertainer, as a promoter of community spirit and as a guard- ian of the students' rights. The paper was pub- lished six times during the year, each edition being six oreight pages. Virginia Beach Sun News was the printer for these editions. To publish a newspaper is a tremendous task and much experience in the field of writing was gained through such a struggle. The staff of the Beachcomber selected as their motto the following: A Nose for News Is Essential.
